Lex goes to the ER
Greg went to the lease this weekend to get some things done before hunting season. So the kids and I were going to have a leisure weekend. Wrong! Things were going well, the kids were playing together in the fort in the backyard. I noticed Caleb pulling Lex's arms to help, or drag, her up the slide. I warned him not to pull on her arms it could hurt her. "Ok Mommy". Then back to my book. Next thing I know Lex is running to me holding her arm to her side. "Bubba did it". I knew then he must have "helped" her up the slide again. I thought to console her and we would be good. But she was inconsolable, and continued to hold her arm to the side. After almost an hour, I decided it was time to go to the ER and make sure nothing was broken, and fix the most likely nursemaid elbow. After 2 hours in the ER with Xrays and second opinions, we were wrapped tight in the arm splint and sling. So much for the enjoyable weekend with the kids!!! Greg owes me a nice long girl's weekend.

Girls Weekend/Boys Weekend
We had a mini-vacation this week. Lexie and I took off for Brady to hang out with my sister Dani. We had a great time hanging out and playing with my baby niece Maggie and catching up with Rhett and Dani. We couldn't pass up taking a few cute pictures of the girls.
We did get to hang out with Papa and Gigi some too. Lex really took to Papa this trip. She would run to him as soon as he showed up, and insisted that he play with her and her new baby doll. It was amusing to watch.
Meanwhile, Greg and Caleb headed to the lease for some boy time. They did all kinds of "manly" things getting prepared for the upcoming hunting season. I think Greg took my comment about Caleb needing to wear plenty of sunblock overboard
Caleb said he had lots of fun on the four wheeler and camping out with Daddy. Yesterday Caleb headed back to school for a fun day with his friends. Last night I was asking how his new class and teacher was, and he told me all about how he and a select few of his friends didn't get in trouble because they "chose to make good choices and listen". He was supposed to be getting a book for me to read him, when I reminded him of his mission he said "I was too busy telling you how I made good choices and what happens to those who make bad choices." Who is this child that I have to redirect on a daily basis at home, and yet he is an angel at school?
