Yesterday was my Tuesday off, so Caleb and I hung out with our friends Kristen and Bo. It was officially Bo's birthday, so we wanted to help him celebrate. We let them play in Bonker's playcenter then had fun at the Arcade. Lexie was a trooper staying content while the boys played. I had sprained my foot, so luckily Kristen helped me carry my chunky monkey around. Which also meant she had to venture into the playcenter when the boys needed help. Overall I think everyone had lots of fun, especially since we spent several hours there playing. Later that evening we had Caleb's swim lesson. He continues to strive for independence in the water. He does seem to swim farther and farther on his own which is encouraging, though the poor child looks like he's drowning while he does try to "swim". I think we are going to continue with swim lessons through the summer since he's progressing so well. We're taking him to Great Wolf Lodge next week, so he'll get to put some of his lessons to good use.
Today when I picked him up from school, Caleb asked me "Are dinosaurs extinct Mommy?" When I told him yes he said "I want to take the dinosaurs to the doctor to make them alive." I love his thinking process. It keeps me entertained. Lexie has been fighting off her first ear infection. The little booger has made it much more difficult to treat infections than Caleb ever did. Caleb always took medicine so easily, well miss Lexie has figured out how to wait just long enough to get most of it in her mouth, then spit it out. We try to hold her nose, and put it in the back cheek, but then she continuously blows bubbles so we can't get much in. What a toot. She takes after aunt Dani in that regard I guess. I remember Mom and Dad trying to hold Dani down to force medicine in her mouth without much luck. I pray it doesn't get that difficult.
We ended the evening at McDonald's with Caleb's soccer team so they could hang out one last time and get their soccer trophies. Baseball's next. I need more energy to keep up with my kids!
