Labor Day Weekend 2013
We had a fun Labor Day weekend with Aunt Steph, Uncle Mike, and cousins Logan and Dylan. The kids played their respective DS, Wii, ipad, and tablets battling each other lots of the weekend. But when we were able to tear them away from technology, they played around our neighborhood lake, backyard, Cabela's aquarium and shooting range; we even squeezed in a few movies in the movie room. We were glad they could come for a few days, but were sad to see them go. We ended the three day weekend with a little fishing excursion of our own. Lex had her first fishing pole, princess of course, and Caleb baited his own hook being the pro he is already. They both caught several fish, but Lex caught the most. She was so excited. I even caught a couple of perch myself. Poor Daddy was running between all of us to help bait hook and release fish back into the water. Lex had one mishap while we were distracted with Caleb's catch. She caught her arm on her own hook and was trying to pull at it while crying hysterically. Scared me to death, but I realized after the ordeal Lex had thought the worm (still on the hook) was biting her which was why she was so scared. Luckily it was a small hook and only a pinpoint wound. Lesson learned by us all. We convinced her to try fishing once more, and she ended the day with another catch. So proud of my babies.
