Halloween 2011

We have had a busy Halloween weekend. It started with the Halloween party at the kids school.
Lexie joined in on Caleb's party since hers was late in the day and I was picking them up early. She was excited to be with the big kids.
Everyone looked great in their costumes, and had fun eating all kinds of yummy food.
Caleb's good friend Steed sat by us resulting in lots of silly laughter from them both.
Saturday we met up with the neighbors at the local elementary school carnival.

The kids threw footballs, basketballs, fed Monster rocks, and got lots of unnecessary candy. Caleb even went through their haunted house twice.
They even got to check out a firetruck.

Then he helped me make scary cake ball eyes which ended up very yummy indeed.

Finally it was actually Halloween.
My lil sis Dani, and my niece Maggie were able to come in for a few days.

They joined us and our neighbors for trick or treating.
Greg scared many and fascinated most with his Chewbacca costume.

Several people stopped us on the way to take pictures with him. Lex wasn't so sure about him, even though it was Daddy's voice. She kept her distance, but had lots of fun going door to door for candy.
After the first house she brought me her candy and wanted me to open it. I explained we would get more first, and she was very cooperative.

Her basket was very full toward the end of the night, but she still wouldn't let me help her carry it. The boys kept trying to run ahead to the next house, while the girls took their time gathering candy so it became tricky trying to keep everyone together.
Lex usually would pull up the rear, not feeling rushed in any way.

Maggie got her first trick or treat candy as well. She did a great job! Chewy did not phase her.

Lex enjoyed having her baby Maggie visiting us.
Happy Halloween!!

Family Pictures 2011

We had Jeanine do our family pictures again. They turned out great. She always captures awesome pics. It was a challenge keeping the kids clean and out of the mud since it had just rained. But my biggest struggle was keeping Greg focused and from goofing off. Such a kid! Lol!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Today we made our yearly venture to the Pumpkin Patch. We met Shae and her sister Denae and their kiddos. I tried to get the pictures out of the way up front so they could play afterward, but Lex would not look at me or smile. When I asked her to, she replied "no Momma". Caleb was a good sport at least. He gave me super good smiles

Caleb was trying to help me entertain Lex. She enjoyed bouncing on the pumpkins with Bubba.

The weather was perfect for fall cool, but not too cold. Lexie really loved all the wooden cartoon characters. She would run up to the ones she recognized and give them a big hug. Caleb preferred the trains and tractors, the maze, and of course the bounce houses.

We ran and played through the pumpkin patch. Caleb was excited Dakota was there to play with as well. Lex and Kyra played in the vicinity of each other, but wouldn't really interact with each other.

We ended the fun outing with a hay ride around the pumpkin patch. We were all ready for a quick lunch and nap after that. Lol!

Lex's Books

Lexie is now 22 months. She loves to read her books. She often has me read her favorite books with multiple color pages and lots of objects she likes to point out.  I asked her "where is the raincoat?"as it was labeled. She couldn't find it, so I pointed to it. She told me "no, jacket." I stand corrected. She is getting too smart. So many new words; she knows most of her colors and is counting past 10 now. I am so proud of her. She also loves to play dress up and "look pretty". I dressed her up in a cute ruffled jumper and my necklaces and got some very cute pics. Caleb was my assistant, helping me to make Lex smile.

Tehama Ridge Festival 2011

Greg is on the HOA again this year, so helped out with our annual Fall Festival. They had bounce houses, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Not to mention yummy snow cones. The kids had a blast petting all the animals and burning lots of energy in the bounce houses and slides. It is always nice free entertainment.
