Luke's Birthday party/Baseball

Saturday was a busy day for the kids. It started with a friends birthday party, Luke. Luke's little brother Jacob is in Lexie's class, so she enjoyed playing with her friend too. Luke and Mitchell are two of Caleb's good friends but they are at different schools now so it makes it hard to see each other often. They had so much fun reuniting while running and jumping throughout the bounce houses. Then it was off to Caleb's baseball game. Just the end of March and it was already super hot outside. But that didn't keep the boys from enjoying the game. Super proud of our boys!

Caleb's baseball 2012

T-ball is starting up once again. Greg is helping coach his team which makes it more fun. Lexie was decked out in her baseball outfit to help support Bubba and his team during the opening ceremony . Caleb and Lex were being very sweet to each other. They are always so supportive of each other. Lex yells "good job Bubba" no matter what Caleb's doing on the field. This year the kids get 3 attempts at coach pitching before hitting off the T if needed. It definitely makes it more exciting, and Caleb loves it. It's going to be a good season.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Tonight Greg and Lexie attended their first Daddy daughter dance. The theme was Beauty and the Beast and the girls were supposed to dress as their favorite princess. I had Lex help me order one a few weeks ago, and she was very particular about having a purple dress like Tangle. I would show her different colors and she would adamantly refuse. She already knows her own mind. She was so excited when I put curlers in her hair to get her ready for the dance. Too bad it rained all day so her curls quickly faded. But we had fun getting ready. She looked so precious and was definitely the most beautiful princess I have seen. (I might be a little partial.) Greg took some cute pictures of them on the dance floor. He said they only sat out 2 songs. Lex loves to dance. When they returned home, Lex ran into my arms to tell me how they danced and she was a princess!
I love it!

Lexie at 2yo

Lexie has really started speaking more clearly lately. It's nice to be able to have some conversations with her. She throws less tantrums these days and I'm sure it's because are communication has improved. Though she continues to be rather bossy. Today I apparently wasn't giving her the attention she needed because she came over and grabbed my face and said "You want to go to time out?" She often demands for us to tell her "Yes Ma'am". She even told Hehe (aunt Brooke) "that's enough" when she told her it was time for bed. It is just very hard to redirect a two year old. Especially when she can be so sweet a second later saying "ok Mommy". She's good at manipulation already.

Valentine Parties 2012

Caleb and Lexie had their Valentine parties today. Caleb's class surprised us with the Thriller Dance. They were dressed up as zombies, which Caleb loved. I didn't get the relation to Valentine though. Lol! Greg met me at Caleb's class and we enjoyed lots of yummy snacks and spent time with his friends. We had to come back for Lex's party. She was very excited to share snack time with Mommy and Daddy. They too were going to dance to the Chicken Dance, but they must have got stage fright. Most just stared at the parents trying to coax them into dancing.

Green tip/ Lexie's Tantrums

Lexie has been sick recently, so I attributed her foul mood to that. But I'm at my wits end with dealing with her tantrums. If she doesn't get her way, she will cry and carry on for a very very long while. I usually can put her in her bed as a sort of time-out, but even that isn't working much. She tells me "no" or "shh" often if I give the wrong response. She throws her self back and slithers along the floor. It sometimes is amusing how mad she can get, but often just frustrating. Even Caleb can do no right with her which is unusual. She usually loves on him. I hope this is a quick phase. Caleb on the other hand continues to be a smooth talker. For dinner the other day I made chicken, which he comes up to me to say "That is the best chicken ever Mom". I said thank you I'm glad you like it. He says " yes, it's so good I want to save some for tomorrow. that's why it's not all gone from my plate." Now that's good. Lol! He got his green tip belt today in Taekwondo. My poor Mom had to take him to belt testing this past weekend while we were away. But it paid off! Way to go Caleb!

Las Vegas 2012

I have to complete my Continuing Education credits this year, so I thought I would pick a place I could learn and have fun. Why not Las Vegas? Greg was totally on board. We haven't been on a trip together without the kids since Caleb was born. In fact we hadn't left them for more than a day before now. So we were excited but a little nervous. My mom was an awesome sport to volunteer to keep the kids during our 4day trip. The flight was long, but we were excited once we reached Vegas and saw all the lights. Greg surprised me with a Limo drive to the Bellagio hotel. The little man was holding a sign with our name on it. It was only 9pm Vegas time, but 11pm our time so we didn't do much our first night except order some room service and watch the fountain light show from our room. It was an awesome view! My conference was only in the mornings, so we had all afternoon and evenings to do what we wanted. Greg had scheduled us a couples massage after lunch the first day, and we enjoyed all the amenities they offered. We were thoroughly spoiled. Then he got us reservations at the Mix Restaurant at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Supposed to be one of the best restaurants to eat at in Vegas. Our table overlooked the Vegas Strip. What a romantic husband I have! The next day we tried out the slot machines for a while, then took a tour of Planet Hollywood, and the Mile Mall. That night we had tickets to the Cirque de Soliel at the O theatre. It was an awesome show! I was amazed with the effects and talent displayed. The stage would be water one moment, then ground the next. I had never seen anything like it. We had an awesome time in Vegas and a much needed Romantic getaway. But we were excited to be back with our babies. Unfortunately for my Mom, Lex got a cold while we were gone. She ran low grade fever and was up coughing the first 2 nights. I felt awful being so far away, but I knew she was in good hands. Mom said they did pretty good the entire weekend otherwise, but she did have her bags packed and ready when we arrived. Lol!
