Easter 2012/Bluebonnets

For Easter this year, we headed back to Brady to hang out. Aunt Dani organized a family reunion as well as birthday bash for Maggie's and our cousin's son, Noah's, first birthdays. On the way home we saw beautiful bluebonnets lined up along the road, so we stopped for some quick pictures of the kids. The reunion was a success. We had so much fun catching up with everyone and just hanging out. The kids had a blast with the Easter egg hunt and getting to play with all the cousins.

Easter Sunday we all got dressed in our finest to Celebrate the Risen Christ. Then headed home to Fort Worth to find that the Easter Bunny had visited there too. He left some wonderful surprises for the kids.

Lexie antics

Lexie is 2y and 4mo now and she is super silly. She often tells me she is an animal (often a dog, lion, crocodile, or monkey). Then she tells me what I should ask her "Say whatcha doing lion." We still haven't gotten this potty training thing down yet, so when she poops she tells me "it's a lion poopy then roar's". I agree with her. She currently is going around saying "How Rude", not sure where she got that one. She often talks of her friends at school. Mostly to tell me "Audrey hit me" or "Ethan pushed me", though I think she has a crush on Jacob. After hanging out with him at last weekends party, she talks of him nonstop. His Mom brought cupcakes to school and Lex told me they were "yummy cupcakes". Last night Greg went to tuck Lex in and told her he loved her, she replied "I love Jacob". I'm thinking it's a little early for boyfriends. LOL!

Caleb Lost His First Tooth!

Greg said when he picked Caleb up from school, Caleb was so excited about having a loose tooth. Then while eating dinner, it came out! You would have thought it was the best thing that ever happened to him. He was very proud and looking forward to putting it under his pillow for the tooth fairy to visit him. This morning he burst into my room and I woke to a very excited Caleb showing me a new dollar from the tooth fairy. Now I just have to keep him from trying to pull out his other teeth before they're ready to come out.

Luke's Birthday party/Baseball

Saturday was a busy day for the kids. It started with a friends birthday party, Luke. Luke's little brother Jacob is in Lexie's class, so she enjoyed playing with her friend too. Luke and Mitchell are two of Caleb's good friends but they are at different schools now so it makes it hard to see each other often. They had so much fun reuniting while running and jumping throughout the bounce houses. Then it was off to Caleb's baseball game. Just the end of March and it was already super hot outside. But that didn't keep the boys from enjoying the game. Super proud of our boys!

Caleb's baseball 2012

T-ball is starting up once again. Greg is helping coach his team which makes it more fun. Lexie was decked out in her baseball outfit to help support Bubba and his team during the opening ceremony . Caleb and Lex were being very sweet to each other. They are always so supportive of each other. Lex yells "good job Bubba" no matter what Caleb's doing on the field. This year the kids get 3 attempts at coach pitching before hitting off the T if needed. It definitely makes it more exciting, and Caleb loves it. It's going to be a good season.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Tonight Greg and Lexie attended their first Daddy daughter dance. The theme was Beauty and the Beast and the girls were supposed to dress as their favorite princess. I had Lex help me order one a few weeks ago, and she was very particular about having a purple dress like Tangle. I would show her different colors and she would adamantly refuse. She already knows her own mind. She was so excited when I put curlers in her hair to get her ready for the dance. Too bad it rained all day so her curls quickly faded. But we had fun getting ready. She looked so precious and was definitely the most beautiful princess I have seen. (I might be a little partial.) Greg took some cute pictures of them on the dance floor. He said they only sat out 2 songs. Lex loves to dance. When they returned home, Lex ran into my arms to tell me how they danced and she was a princess!
I love it!

Lexie at 2yo

Lexie has really started speaking more clearly lately. It's nice to be able to have some conversations with her. She throws less tantrums these days and I'm sure it's because are communication has improved. Though she continues to be rather bossy. Today I apparently wasn't giving her the attention she needed because she came over and grabbed my face and said "You want to go to time out?" She often demands for us to tell her "Yes Ma'am". She even told Hehe (aunt Brooke) "that's enough" when she told her it was time for bed. It is just very hard to redirect a two year old. Especially when she can be so sweet a second later saying "ok Mommy". She's good at manipulation already.
