We had lots of visitors over the weekend. My parents came in with my Uncle and Grandmother and we picked up my sister Steph at the airport. Everybody came in for my cousin's, Chelsey's, wedding. We met up with the rest of the extended family at the wedding Saturday night. It was a beautiful service, and we had a wonderful time at the Reception. Caleb in particular danced the night a way with anyone willing. He really enjoyed dancing the dollar dance with Chelsey, when he got back to the table he wanted another dollar to get another turn. It was nice catching up with everyone, and exhausting trying to keep up with Caleb.
Today was my day off with Caleb, so we decided to go to the dollar Movies. Caleb did really well, and especially enjoyed the popcorn we shared. I am trying to keep with activities we can do that will allow us to avoid this Texas heat. Caleb is in an interesting phase, or rather a very inquisitive phase. Everyday I am bombarded with a million questions on where did that thing or person come from, or what does that truck do, or what does those letters mean? And the really funny thing is if he doesn't think my answers are right, he'll argue the point with me. Wow, what a phase! Though I am amazed at some of his questions or amused at times. Today he asked me what the bump on my ankle was, the fibula. I told him it was a bone in my ankle. He looked confused and asked "Did you eat it?" The only bones he is familiar with is the ones our dog, Monte, chews.

Crazy Hat Day

Yesterday was crazy hat day at school. I had found this elephant hat for him to wear on the big day. Everyday since I showed him the hat he asked "Is it crazy hat day today?" His teacher said he wore it all day. He has always been a fan of the elephant. Today was the third day with big boy underwear, with only one accident. Yeah!! Not only are we very proud, but daycare cost goes down once potty trained! Of course once we finally are completely out of diapers, we will be starting over with the baby. Oh well. Once the kids are out of diapers and daycare, Greg and I will experience a nice raise. Something to look forward to. More good news, we finally found a house we like and will hopefully be closing on it the end of July! Now we just have to pack up everything; I am not looking forward that.

Yea!! Caleb has now gone poo poo on the potty twice in the last 3 days. Today was his second day at school staying dry with big boy underwear on. I think we are finally getting this potty business down! Tonight Caleb announced he needed to go pee pee on the potty, so I told him "Good job." He replied "no, don't say good job mommy, I haven't gone potty yet." I guess it keeps him humble. For Father's day, Caleb helped me make daddy a cake. We especially liked licking the bowl afterward. Caleb didn't quite understand the whole Father's day concept though. He wished everyone, female or male, Happy Father's day at church. I hope all the Dad's out there had a wonderful Father's Day.

Exciting news, we finally had a decent offer on our house and are almost through the option period. Pray we make it all the way through closing, July 21st. But instead of looking for a house like we should have this weekend, we went out of town for a sort of family reunion. I'm glad we did, it was fun catching up with extended family. Caleb really enjoyed playing with his various cousins and of course swimming. It wouldn't be normal if we didn't have multiple plans over a single weekend. We had to make it back Sunday afternoon for Caleb's best friend, Lucas's birthday party. Caleb and Luke have been best buds at daycare for the last 2 years. I am sad Caleb will be losing his friends with this move, but I know he will make more great friends. Today was crazy hair day at school so Greg helped Caleb perfect his hairdo. When I picked him up, he dragged me over to where snow cones were being handed out for a nice cold treat before heading home. They have so much fun at school! Caleb is very perceptive though because on the way home he said "That's my school mommy, but I'm going to a new school. It's far, far away." At least he didn't sound disappointed. While tucking him in to bed tonight, we asked Caleb if he was ready for a big boy bed and if his old bed could go to the baby. Caleb became very concerned, "this is my bed, and this is my elephant, my puppy, and my blanket." I think he is going to be in for a rude awakening when the baby comes. Poor Caleb.

Crazy Weekend!

Grandma came in for the weekend to help me with Caleb while Greg was away. We had a very busy weekend. I had to work Saturday morning, but then Grandma and Caleb met me in Keller to look at some houses with our realtor. We found some potential homes, but it was a long, hot afternoon. Caleb was very helpful, giving a very strong opinion on which houses he liked and disliked. It seems if they had a playset in the yard or animals, the house was a success. I was looking forward to return home and rest, but unfortunately a two hour showing was scheduled just before we were to get home. So we detoured to the mall to let Caleb play at the indoor play area, and so I could get some clothes that would fit my growing waist. I took Grandma out to dinner for being such a great help, then we finally made it home. Needless to say we were exhausted. While I was tucking Caleb in, which is usually a drawn out ordeal, he gave me one hug and kisses then said "I don't want to talk Mommy, I'm going to sleep." Grandma and I shared a good laugh over that comment. After a messy breakfast at IHOP today, we headed to Kohls. Caleb decided it would be fun to run in and out of the clothes to hide from us when he tripped and bumped his head on the base of one of the clothes stands. I was never so scared when he pulled his hand away from his head and it was covered in blood. We ran to clean it up and inspect the wound further and luckily found it was just a small puncture wound. It probably could have used one staple, but he had already stopped crying and the ER would have been more traumatic, so we chose to just let it be. Boys! He will be the death of me. I am glad Greg is coming home today.

Big Boy Caleb

Daddy left us yesterday to go camping and isn't coming back until Sunday. Luckily I have been feeling a little better recently. Caleb and I are getting lots of bonding time this week. He has been a little more cooperative the last few days which helps. Though we still have our moments. I am not the one usually taking him to school in the morning since I started my new job, so we had to get up extra early to accomodate Caleb's normal morning routine. We were only at little late getting on the road. I realized on the way to school how much I have missed our morning conversations. He started out with " the Sun isn't letting me see Mommy". Then continued with various questions about certain signs and houses. As we passed the large Dragon at a nearby park, he said "Hi Dragon, have a nice day!" I loved it! We are still working on the whole potty training bit. He seems to do much better with it at school than at home. When I picked him up from school, he said "I go potty like a big boy yesterday at school (though he meant today)! , I hold my peepee down like a big boy!" (That is always important or we have a big mess. ) I was very excited for him, though he doesn't usually have a problem with peeing, it's pooping on the potty which seems to be the bigger issue. But he likes to receive praises for his successes, and stickers. So I just go along singing his praises.

Fun at the Pool

My friend Sarah invited Caleb and I to join her and her 2 girls at the pool on Saturday. Since I have been feeling better during the day, I thought that would be great entertainment for Caleb. He was very excited when I told him we were going swimming, but I waited til the morning of since you never know what might happen. He lit up with a big smile and said "swimming is today?", just to be sure he heard me right. The water was very cold, so it took him a while to try the slides at the pool. Once I gave him a "little push" down the slide, he didn't want to stop. Over and over he went down both slides. Later he, Teresa, and Addison enjoyed playing with the buckets they brought. When it was time to go, as I feared, Caleb had a complete meltdown. He kicked and screamed at the idea of leaving. Fortunately it only lasted a few minutes this time. Greg and I are having a tough time trying to handle Caleb's tantrums. He recently has become very rude in his demands, and answers most of our requests with an angry "NO". "Time out" does not phase him anymore, and pretty much any thing we try just causes a bigger fit. I feel guilty though because I'm sure some of his actions are to gain attention since I have been so absentee recently. Sunday we had lunch with Aunt Gin and Uncle Justin, which also became an ordeal. Caleb was showing off and enjoying the attention from them, but then he threw another fit over not getting to play with his playdough when lunch was served. Greg had to take him outside he was being so loud. That only helped for a few minutes before he continued with his loud demands. I think it wouldn't be as bad if he didn't talk so loud and clear. Especially when that clear conversation includes "I haven't finished pooping yet Mommy." Which has happened in public on more than one occasion when we ask him to join us back at the table. I now try to only go to places where noone knows us, haha! We enjoyed the rest of Sunday at Aunt Shae Shae and Joby's. Caleb and Dakota splashed around in their kiddy pool for a while. Poor Dakota wasn't so thrilled to get splashed by Caleb so often though. Boys!
