Valentine Parties 2012
Caleb and Lexie had their Valentine parties today. Caleb's class surprised us with the Thriller Dance. They were dressed up as zombies, which Caleb loved. I didn't get the relation to Valentine though. Lol! Greg met me at Caleb's class and we enjoyed lots of yummy snacks and spent time with his friends. We had to come back for Lex's party. She was very excited to share snack time with Mommy and Daddy. They too were going to dance to the Chicken Dance, but they must have got stage fright. Most just stared at the parents trying to coax them into dancing.

Green tip/ Lexie's Tantrums
Lexie has been sick recently, so I attributed her foul mood to that. But I'm at my wits end with dealing with her tantrums. If she doesn't get her way, she will cry and carry on for a very very long while. I usually can put her in her bed as a sort of time-out, but even that isn't working much. She tells me "no" or "shh" often if I give the wrong response. She throws her self back and slithers along the floor. It sometimes is amusing how mad she can get, but often just frustrating. Even Caleb can do no right with her which is unusual. She usually loves on him. I hope this is a quick phase. Caleb on the other hand continues to be a smooth talker. For dinner the other day I made chicken, which he comes up to me to say "That is the best chicken ever Mom". I said thank you I'm glad you like it. He says " yes, it's so good I want to save some for tomorrow. that's why it's not all gone from my plate." Now that's good. Lol! He got his green tip belt today in Taekwondo. My poor Mom had to take him to belt testing this past weekend while we were away. But it paid off! Way to go Caleb!

Las Vegas 2012
I have to complete my Continuing Education credits this year, so I thought I would pick a place I could learn and have fun. Why not Las Vegas? Greg was totally on board. We haven't been on a trip together without the kids since Caleb was born. In fact we hadn't left them for more than a day before now. So we were excited but a little nervous. My mom was an awesome sport to volunteer to keep the kids during our 4day trip. The flight was long, but we were excited once we reached Vegas and saw all the lights. Greg surprised me with a Limo drive to the Bellagio hotel. The little man was holding a sign with our name on it. It was only 9pm Vegas time, but 11pm our time so we didn't do much our first night except order some room service and watch the fountain light show from our room. It was an awesome view! My conference was only in the mornings, so we had all afternoon and evenings to do what we wanted. Greg had scheduled us a couples massage after lunch the first day, and we enjoyed all the amenities they offered. We were thoroughly spoiled. Then he got us reservations at the Mix Restaurant at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Supposed to be one of the best restaurants to eat at in Vegas. Our table overlooked the Vegas Strip. What a romantic husband I have! The next day we tried out the slot machines for a while, then took a tour of Planet Hollywood, and the Mile Mall. That night we had tickets to the Cirque de Soliel at the O theatre. It was an awesome show! I was amazed with the effects and talent displayed. The stage would be water one moment, then ground the next. I had never seen anything like it. We had an awesome time in Vegas and a much needed Romantic getaway. But we were excited to be back with our babies. Unfortunately for my Mom, Lex got a cold while we were gone. She ran low grade fever and was up coughing the first 2 nights. I felt awful being so far away, but I knew she was in good hands. Mom said they did pretty good the entire weekend otherwise, but she did have her bags packed and ready when we arrived. Lol!

Shrek on ICE/Snow tubing
Greg and I spent a wonderful half day Christmas shopping and hanging out. Then we picked up the kids to head to the Gaylord for more family fun. We enjoyed seeing all the Christmas decor and lights. The kids really liked all the dressed up reindeer. This is the first year Lex could really enjoy all the scenic views. Next we met up with our friends the Boltons for some Snow tubing and to see Shrek on ICE. Caleb was so excited to be able to go on the "big slopes" this year. He never tired going up and down the slopes, while Greg and I had to take turns going with him. I was exhausted afterward. Shrek on Ice was our last adventure. I am always with impressed with the ice artwork. It was super cold though! Caleb and his buddy Bo had to go down the ice slide a few times before we could venture on. Lex really wanted to touch all the neat characters, luckily the parka kept her from doing that or she would've been stuck. Something I wasn't able to explain to her. It was a very fun experience.

Santa Clause
We headed to see Santa Clause today on my day off with the kids. Caleb was not at all shy of course and went and sat on Santa's lap with no problems. Lex was excited, but not sure what she should do. She stiffly sat there with a worried expression on her face, but no tears like last year. She finally giggled some at our antics for the picture. She is starting to talk a lot more, and is just a bit bossy too. But she is so soft spoken when she speaks it's such a difference from Caleb's loud voice. She loves to sing, and often will put her daily routines into the song. Her current favorite bedtime songs are Jingle Bells, Rudolph, and Rock-a-bye Baby. She will not go to sleep without hearing them. It's interesting to see the differences between Caleb and Lexie, yet they love each other so much and most often enjoy playing together. I am so blessed!

Lexie turns 2!
Lexie's actual birthday was Thursday, but we had her party on Saturday. Thursday I had sent her class some cupcakes to help her celebrate at school. They must have sang to her a few times because she continued to sing Happy Birthday to herself most of the evening. At one point Caleb wasn't given her the appropriate attention so she continued to yell at him until finally he asked "what Lexie?". Lexie said "Happy Birthday Lexie", so Caleb once again said "Happy birthday Lexie". She replied "thank you bubba", as if she didn't just pressure him to say it to her. Lol! After dinner Greg put a candle in a yummy iced cookie, and Lex soaked up all the attention once again as we sang Happy Birthday to her. Saturday we had Gigi and a few close friends over to help us celebrate Lex's 2nd Birthday with her. She really just wanted to play with her balloons and eat cake. She did enjoy all the wonderful gifts she received and ultimately gathered all her goodies with her on her new princess couch. It was a good night for her.
