Saturday Greg had to work, so the kids and I decided last minute to entertain ourselves with another trip to the Museum. Caleb always loves the change to go back. There is so much to do that we never get to everything in one trip. We made perfect timing since a show was just about to start in the Planetarium with Big Bird and Elmo as the commentators. Lexie and Caleb enjoyed seeing all the stars and comets along with the funny Sesame Street characters. Then we headed outside for a nice lunch picnic.

The rest of the afternoon was spent digging for dinosaur bones, building airplanes, and learning the meaning of motion with things like a hula hoop. Lexie decided to skip her morning nap and stay up to watch all the kids explore. She was fighting the much needed sleep which made it more difficult to multitask with Caleb. She finally passed out the last 45 minutes of our venture.
I wanted to check out the new Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit, but that wasn't as exciting as all the "hands on exhibits". I tried to get Caleb to sit and listen to the documentary playing, but he informed me we can only sit for a minute. Less than 20 seconds later he got up and said "ok that's enough. Let's go." By the end of the outing, we were all hot and tired. That's when you know it has been a successful outing and hope for an early bed time. On the way home I stopped by a Dairy Queen for ice cream thinking it would be a good way to cool off. My mistake was allowing Caleb to have a cone "which you can eat mommy." We were about 2 minutes from the house when I hear a "oh" followed by Caleb crying " Stop mommy, I dropped my ice cream on the floor." Which actually ended up being in the open diaper bag. Funny thing is I knew I'd regret it when I bought him the ice cream.

Lexie is definitely more active than Caleb was. She constantly is moving when you try to hold her, and when you put her down, she moves quickly to all the areas she should not be. We try to block the "off limit" areas with pillows since she still hasn't technically crawled.

She drags herself with her upper body very well though and can already pull herself over pillows and other objects. I have a feeling I'm going to have a tougher time with Miss Lexie than I did with Caleb, which is really scary!
