Baby Sister!

Everyday I pick up Caleb, he has a stack of projects he worked on that day. One of his projects this week was to make a card for someone they love. Caleb had the teacher put To: My Baby Sister on the front of the card. When I asked him what his card said, he replied "It says I love you to my baby sister." I was so touched. What a great big brother he is going to be! Almost every night Caleb insists on helping us cook. It is so cute when he asks " ok, what's next?" Of course his favorite is helping with dessert. He is becoming a pro at licking the bowl.

Happy Birthday Caleb!

This past weekend was very busy. We celebrated Caleb's 3rd birthday early due to scheduling conflicts; his actual birthday is August 28th. The party was at a local bounce house gig; we rented a room where there were several bouncie houses to choose from. We were so excited that many of our friends from where we moved from were able to come, as well as a few new friends from Caleb's new daycare. My family all came in as well to help celebrate and see the new house. Talk about motivation to get unpacked and decorated. Caleb was so excited Saturday when we told him it was finally time to have his birthday party. He has been talking about it for the past 3 weeks. Lucas, his best friend from his last daycare, was able to make it as well. Lucas's Mom had got in touch a couple of weeks after Caleb left saying he was really missing his friend. So we were so happy they could get together again so soon for Caleb's birthday. Their faces were priceless when they saw each other. Caleb had such a good time and happily bragged how "all my friends were at my party." After an hour of jumping and running, we sat the kids down for fruit and pizza. That's when Caleb looked at me slightly distressed saying " they haven't sang happy birthday to me mommy." I couldn't help but laugh at his pitiful expression before explaining we were going to eat pizza first, then sing before cake was served. Obviously he has been to a few parties and didn't want to miss his own glory moment. What was really funny is that when we finally did sing to him, he acted very shy, ducking his head down and grinning so innocently. After naptime, we let Caleb open all his presents. He was really excited about all the wonderful gifts he received.
Caleb's cousins, Logan and Dylan, were also staying with us; so the weekend was full of entertainment for Caleb. They took Caleb with them to the Aquarium Friday, partied and played all day Saturday, and then ended the weekend with swimming on Sunday. We were all exhausted by Sunday afternoon. What a weekend! But it was so nice to see friends and family again!
Here are some more pics from the party: Dad was the first to break the rules on the slides, go figure!

We're still here!

We're still here! Just been so busy settling in the new house and getting into our new routine. Caleb is still enjoying his new school and meeting new friends. We have been planning his birthday party the last few weeks for this weekend at a Jump House locally. Caleb has been soooo excited, talking non-stop about his birthday party. Almost nightly Caleb gets out of his big boy bed to "tell me something" 4-5 times. And it's usually about his birthday party including who's coming and how high he is going to jump. He currently is getting over a most tragic accident to his private part, which we refer to as his pee pee. Apparently after I left for work yesterday, Caleb got up to use the bathroom and unfortunately did not put the seat up all the way. The result was most distressing for the male species. Greg called me at work to tell me of the accident and that Caleb's pee pee looked almost blue. Luckily he had little swelling and no problems going to the restroom the rest of the day. That evening when I asked how his pee pee was, he told me it "got hurt today and was red", " but it's ok, I like red." Sure enough his poor pee pee was a deep violet red. My poor baby! As for me, I continue to grow and grow. I am procrastinating on this pregnancy and the preparations needed before she comes. At least we finally picked out a name for her. We seem to agree on Lexie Ireland; Lexie because it's cute, and Ireland after my Grandfather.

The Big Move

Well we've finally moved to the Ft Worth area. It was an awful experience that I do not want to repeat, so I hope we like it over here. We moved in last week and are still continuously looking for the box with this or that. The first few nights Caleb stayed in our bed, I was worried about transferring him to his "big boy" bed in a new home. But he seems to have transitioned quite well to both situations the last 2 nights. He especially likes his new play room where he finally has room to enjoy ALL of his toys. Today was his first day at his "new school" with his "new friends". He was very excited when he woke this morning. I think I was more nervous than he was. Greg took him to school since I had to be at work early. He said Caleb was thrilled to see his new school when they drove up saying "That's my new school daddy. What are my teachers names?" Greg said after he was introduced to his teachers, he ran over to the tool work bench and started playing. When Greg said he was leaving, Caleb walked him to the door, gave him hugs and kisses, then said "bye daddy" and closed the door on him. When I came to pick him up, he was running around the room playing. I'm so glad he enjoyed his first day. All that worry for nothing.

Fun in the Sun

This past weekend Caleb got plenty of water time. Saturday our friends Sarah and Ken and their girls hosted the now annual Splash Party in their backyard. Caleb was so excited to go to his friend Teresa's house, he was constantly asking if "today is Teresa's?". Even though it was over 100 degrees, he didn't slow down. Though I think we were in the bathroom just as much as we were outside. Every 10 min Caleb would run to me to let me know he needed to "pee pee". And he did go every time, potty training is exhausting. It was 9 p.m. before I could drag him away. He fell asleep on the way home with the cool glow sticks Teresa gave him. Greg said when he was tucking him in, Caleb woke briefly whispering "get my glow sticks daddy."
We slept in until after 8 the next morning, it was great. After church, we did some more packing and preparing for the move; well ok maybe Greg did the packing and preparing. But I kept Caleb occupied and provided moral support. Sunday night Greg cooked steaks out on the grill while Caleb enjoyed some more pool time on the deck. It was a nice relaxing evening.

My Little Prince

Caleb had Prince and Princess day at school yesterday. I bought him a foam crown he could decorate for the occasion. When he saw the crown he immediately said I want to be the King. When I tried to explain what a Prince was , he said "No, that's for girls; I'm a King." The crown had an unfortunate accident while Caleb was playing with it the day before, it suffered a tear down one side. Caleb was distraught over his broken crown, and I wasn't sure exactly how to remedy the situation. Then I remembered I had an old suture kit. So after a few stitches were placed, I had a happy 2 yr old again. His teachers thought it was amusing, apparently Caleb bragged how his Mommy fixed his crown. It's nice to feel like a Hero!
My concern about changing Caleb's school is growing. Caleb told me this evening that he was going to take a nap and then get up and go to school to play with Aiden. And when anything extraordinary happens at home he says, " I need to tell Ms. Adams..." I just keep building up this new school and hope it lives up to the expectations.

July 4th Weekend!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. I was disappointed we couldn't go to Brady for the parade and rodeo, but it was my holiday to work. I guess if I have to work a holiday, I'd rather it be this one though. We did have a leisure day off Friday, and I only worked half day Saturday. Caleb had a great time "swimming" in his whale pool. He eventually got daddy in the pool too, that was a sight. Saturday night we packed a picnic dinner and headed off to watch Lewisville's fireworks show. Caleb really enjoyed his glowing windmill we bought him while waiting for the show. That was one of the best $5 investment we've made, it kept him occupied most of the 2 hours we were there. The show was really good, and Caleb was thrilled by all the colors; he would try to guess what the next color would be. We were exhausted after the long, hot day and we all slept in until 9am Sunday morning. Unfortunately, we had to spend most of the day Sunday packing. We are only two weeks away from moving!
Last week Caleb came home proclaiming "All of my friends are going to Aiden's Power Ranger birthday party with me." I had no idea what he was talking about, but today we received an invitation to Aiden's Power Ranger party. It's amazing what they talk about at school at 3yrs old. I look at it this party as leverage for good behavior over the next 2 weeks. What great parenting skills I have! Anything for peace and cooperation.
