Caleb is so funny. He mimicks mommy now, which can be scary sometimes. I was outside with him recently when he noticed some of monte's poop. He said "uh-oh". I agreed and said it was "nasty" and so he shouldn't touch it. Now everytime he sees poop he claims it's nassie, which is awesome. One less thing for Caleb to mess with luckily. Later he had a dirty diaper and so I thought it was appropriate to say he had a nasty bobo. He now wanders around saying "nassie bobo" daily. It's too funny. Though I hope he doesn't tell other people they have a "nassie bobo. "
He is really communicating so much more now. Though his tantrums are also progressing. It is hard to go to the store or out to eat with anyone. He hates to sit in the shopping cart, and of course grabs everything on his level if he's walking. I think we may just have to stay out of the public eye until he's 10 years old. Haha!
This weekend I bought him Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham book. He loves it. We have read it at least 20 times already. No other books exist right now. Reading is apparently the only pre-bed ritual we are going to do now because everytime I try to sing a song Caleb says "No, no mommy". I am getting used to the abuse now, but initially I was offended because I really thought he liked me to sing to him. The only songs he'll let me sing (occasionally) is "There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" and "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" (I was desperate).

Saturday we went to the park. The majority of the time we were on the swings. He loves to swing and stare at people as they go by him. I guess he gets that from me, we are people watchers. I finally drug him away from the park over an hour later. Caleb is my new work out program, he keeps going and going.
Caleb and I had a busy weekend. It was so hot we had to cool down with the sprinkler. Caleb loves playing on the deck, he usually sneaks out the doggie door to get outside. He would spend hours outside if I'd let him. Monte just follows him around and joins in the fun.

Greg has been gone for most of the week now. I realize how much I appreciate him, and have even more respect for single mothers everywhere. We have had a great time bonding, but I am exhausted. He misses his daddy though, everytime we hear a loud truck go by he says "dada". Though he is not disappointed very long thanks to his very short term memory. We have a very strict routine which helps: Outside time, then dinner, bath, books, and finally night night. I still rock him to sleep everynight which I realize spoils him, but I know he won't be this little much longer, so I can't give it up. Well we have a busy weekend ahead and daddy's not back for two more days, so I'll get my rest now. Goodnight!

Mom's day off from work

Every Thursday I have off now to spend extra time with Caleb. We go to Little Gym each week, which he loves, and then find time to hang out with other kiddos, or go to the park, zoo, and more. I love it. Today was a park day and we were able to see ducks on the lake. Caleb tried to go into the water to get closer, he was so excited. We finally pulled ourselves away to play on the slide and in the train.
I have found that I do not have to worry about disciplining Caleb, because he will do so himself. He was trying to get my attention today and started kicking me. I told him "no,no" and he went over by the wall and sat down. I realized he just put himself in time out. (I forget to use that sometimes. ) He sat there waiting for me to let him up! He was so cute, I couldn't leave him there long. I guess that means he gets in trouble often at school.
He can be loving too. Every time he hurts himself or bangs an extremity (which is frequently), I have to kiss his "ouchie". Well today I hit my arm and groaned in pain, and when I turned around Caleb grabbed my arm and kissed my ouchie. It was so cute. He is such a charmer.
