Happy Easter!

We had a nice family weekend. This year we opted to stay home for Easter instead of traveling out of town. Yesterday we woke up late, 8a.m., and so decided it was an IHOP day. After a yummy breakfast, we ran some errands and then Caleb and I headed to the movies to watch Rio in 3D. It was a cute movie, our favorite part of movies is sharing popcorn and candy. Though Caleb looked guilty and said that was junk food when we told Dad about our time at the movie later. I told him occasional junk food is ok.
Then we decorated Easter eggs. Lex tried to eat the eggs, so I gave her an art project to work on instead.
We had so much fun decorating the eggs, we decided Lex and Caleb needed some decor as well. They enjoyed being Easter eggs.
We ended the day having a nice Easter dinner with friends.
Today we got everyone in their new Easter outfits and headed to church to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. It was a wonderful sermon, and we were reminded of how blessed we truly are. While we were at church, the Easter bunny visited us and left wonderful gifts as well as lots of hidden eggs.
The kids did awesome hunting for eggs. Lex is already a pro.
She was to get all the eggs in the grass, and Caleb could get all the others.
So he was upset when Lexie got an egg from the slide. They worked it out and everyone had lots of fun treats. Daddy really liked Lexie's hat.

Lexie Antics

Lexie is continues to add more words to her vocabulary at 16months. She now likes to say dog followed by "ruff, ruff", and has the cutest "roar" when you ask her what a tiger says. She can clearly say baby and calls Caleb "bubba". I love watching her learn all about the world around her. She signs too, milk, more, please and thank you. But mostly points and whines if she wants something specific. She is such a little pig always eating snacks going as far as bringing snacks out of the pantry for you to feed her. At least she is getting more active to make up for all the munching. We often find her outside now that she uses the doggy door. But now we have to put a gate around the playhouse ladder since the child has no fear and often climbs up on her own. We let her go up and down the slide instead, but she tries to be sneaky and get through the gate often times. She is a defiant little toot. She loves to read, and sometimes reads to her own baby.

Gigi and the Museum

Gigi was visiting on business, but was able to hang out for extra day of fun. Luckily it fell on my day off, so we took Gigi to the Museum with us. The kids love the Museum, they never get tired of all the fun things to see and play with there.
We introduced Gigi to several of their favorite activities.
It was nice having help on our outing. Lexie is big enough now to run away and do her own things, while Caleb usually wants to go the other way! Gigi couldn't help but spoil the kids with gifts from the gift shop.
Lex got a horse and went around saying "neigh", while Caleb got a Dinosaur excavation kit. He loved digging for dinosaur bones. It was a nice visit with Gigi.

Oh Mom!

I took Monday off to recover from my trip to Brady, and it worked out well since Greg had to go out of town suddenly. Caleb was scheduled for his first photo shoot for the Kim Dawson model agency this morning. On our way I reminded him that once we get there, then he cut me off and said "I already have my listening ears on mom" . Obviously he knew where that conversation was going. Caleb looked like he wasn't feeling well during the drive, so I asked a few times if he was ok. He gets carsick sometimes. The third time I asked, he said "I'm fine Mom, why do you always worry about me? I responded because I love and care about you. He said "you always worry about me, even when I go to the lease with Daddy." I said, "that's when I really need to worry about you" Haha. It ended up they didn't need Caleb for the photo shoot today, so we grabbed lunch of Caleb's choice and headed to Shae Shae's for a quick visit. Caleb and Dakota, or "Bakota" as Caleb continues to call him, played for an hour or so while Shae and I caught up. Then we headed to the daycare to pick up Lexie and the kids played outside the rest of the afternoon. Lexie has been talking more, mostly gibberish. But today while Caleb was watching cartoons, she noticed a dog and said "dog, ruff ruff." That was the first time she added the appropriate animal sound. How exciting!!!

Baby Maggie

I got to spend a wonderful 4 days with my new niece Maggie Marie. My baby sister Dani, had her April 4th and she was only 5lb 4oz. Mine were never so tiny, so it was a new experience to care for such a tiny baby. I tried to help alleviate some of the diaper changing from Dani's daily routine, and give her a chance for nap each day or to run errands. It was no hardship for me to cuddle with my sweet niece during these past 4 days.Of course I had to have a mini-photo session with her too! She is just too precious. My wonderful husband held down the fort at home with the kiddos while I was away. I missed them dearly, but it was nice to take a break from the tantrums, frustrating dinner decisions, and just be able to sit quietly with Maggie.I was very much ready to see my munchkins by the end of the weekend though. And they were excited to see me. Especially Caleb since he had requested for me to bring him back a surprise after my trip. Now back to reality.

More Baseball/Spring planting

Another weekend of hot fun. Caleb continues to stay busy with baseball. They have 2 games a week, along with his Taekwondo twice a week. I can barely keep up. They are having lots of fun though, so I guess it's worth all the hard work.
Caleb's game was fun to watch again. The kids are all getting braver with their slide into bases. It's funny that it doesn't matter which base they are running to, they will slide into it. Some will actually run, touch the base with their foot, then fall as if sliding into the same base. Hilarious!Caleb loves having so many of his good buddies on his team.
Lex continues to be a strong supporter of Bubba and the other boys. This weekend we decided to spice the backyard up with some colorful plants. Caleb helped me plant most of the flowers. Though after he found a worm, he gave up on planting and just continued to look for more worms. Before the new flowers were planted, and then after. What big helpers I have!

Little Gym /Baseball/Thomas the Train

Lex continues to grow in her physical abilities to climb, jump, balance at Little Gym. She loves all the fun activities they do. Besides the beams, bars, and mats they can play on; she loves to dance to the cool music they play, pop the bubbles they blow, and kick and throw the balls they provide. Her new accomplishment is walking the beam all by herself.
She was so proud!
This weekend was Caleb's first baseball game.
He did an awesome job of course. They are so cute to watch, acting so serious to run and get the ball and trying so hard to aim at the person trying to catch the ball while staying on base. Caleb's favorite part was sliding into home plate though. What else would you expect! He's all boy. Lexie enjoyed a few snacks while watching Bubba play his game.
After the game, we headed to Grapevine to ride Thomas the Train. The kids were so excited to ride on Thomas.
Lexie was very impressed by the "choo choo", and Caleb was more interested in the fact that it was Thomas we were riding.
It was crazy hot, but that didn't stop the kids from enjoying the event.
We ended the day eating out at a Habachi Grill. We thought the kids would enjoy the new experience. Caleb loved the fire, Lexie not so much. Greg had to take her out of the dining area to calm her down while the chef completed his show.
