Lexie goes to Daycare

Well my first week back to work went well, but tiring. Grandma came to help out with Lexie during the later part of the week which was awesome. Caleb really enjoyed having Grandma visit. He told her on the phone before her arrival, after 1 day of hearing the news, that he had been "waiting, and waiting, and waiting for her to come." I really appreciated only having to deal with the stressor of returning to work and not daycare in the same week. Yesterday Lexie and I were able to visit my good friend Ginger and her new baby boy Daxton. It was sooo cute watching the two of them discover each other yesterday. Lexie couldn't keep her eyes off Dax. It is going to be so much fun to see the two of them grow up together. Caleb has been very helpful with the care of "baby Lexie". Every time Lexie cries, he lets me know, from whatever room of the house he may be in, that "baby Lexie is hungry" . He constantly talks to her, super close to her face, often telling her how cute she is. We even caught him once holding Lexie in his lap watching cartoons while she was laughing up at him. We all learned a lot from that experience, but Caleb continues to insist he "won't drop her." Just like he can "run out of the way when a car comes" and "run too fast if a stranger comes." I told Caleb it would be Lexie's first day at daycare in the morning. He seemed rather pleased at the news. "Will the teachers change her diapers?" Yes, "yeah and they'll give her baby toys to play with." "They have baby toys in the her room, and we have big boy toys in ours." "We have dinosaurs, but babies don't because they might get scared." I think he will be a big help to Lexie's transition. I hope I handle it as well. Last week I found out RSV had made its way to the infants room the week prior. I pray we do not have to battle serious illness once she is in daycare. Fortunately Greg will be doing the dropping off which is the hardest part, while I get to pick them up. Pray for strength and good health these upcoming weeks.

I'm sure it'll all go well, and you'll be nicely in routine soon! I do not envy the pumping at work, I remember that all too well. Enjoy being back at work:)
