Day off with the kids!

We are finally back on a normal schedule this week. Today was my Thursday off, so we had Lexie's Little Gym class first thing this morning. She was in a groovy mood. Playing with all the other kids, interacting with the teacher (which rarely happens), and dancing to the music as she went from activity to activity. She then passed out in the car on our way to the zoo. It was a glorious day for our trip to the zoo. Both kids were excited by the time we made it to the first animals. Lexie really enjoyed being able to walk and climb about on her own.
Caleb insisted he needed to do the rock climbing again to try and reach the top. He didn't quite make it to the top, but he definitely went higher than last time. Then we stopped for a home made lunch and a short rest.
Next was the farm animal petting zoo and activity center. The only animal sound Lex seems to remember is the cow's moooooo. For every animal you ask her to try to and imitate, she makes the "mooo" sound. So I know she was excited when we got to see a cow at the zoo! Lol! Then we stopped for ice cream, specifically Rainbow sherbet. Lexie was a big fan, she kept repeating "mmm" after every bite. Caleb was having trouble with his cone leaking, so toward the end of his treat he said "I'm done with this cone, it's freaking me out!" Where did that come from! Then we took a ride on the carousel before heading to the amphibian and reptile exhibit. Caleb really liked the "super big snake".
Lex was getting pretty sleepy so wasn't too impressed. We finally made it back to the car where the kids fell asleep less than 5 minutes into the trip home. That was a good thing because the traffic was awful. The day wasn't over yet though, luckily I called my neighbor Amber for a play date and she reminded me it was belt testing day for Taekwondo! So off we went to test for the green belt. Caleb did an awesome job breaking a board with is "push kick".
We ended the day playing with the neighbors kids and enjoying the nice evening weather.
